For as long as I can remember, I have loved to write, especially history-based fiction based on places and subjects I know.  I have been a freelance journalist, text-book author, adjunct professor, attorney, and partner in a land planning firm.  For fun, I work at being a tone-deaf guitar aficionado.

Jerkwater Town, a historical novel about the assassination of San Diego’s mafia chief and 80 years of history leading to his killing, is coming out this fall.  It’s a sequel to Falling Down: A Tale of Addiction, Betrayal & Murder. You can visit me at http://www.fjamesgreco.com.

I was born in Spokane, WA, but have resided in southern California since 1971. My wife Jane and I live in North County San Diego with Wicket, our Bichon-Poodle mix. We have two married sons, two wonderful daughters-in-law, and two grand-pups.

  1. Hey there! I stumbled on this and enjoyed it thoroughly. Doors fan here, and so glad you get to have your day. I thought mine was when I finally saw Eric Clapton at Universal City….uh, nope! No magic in his presence – better on the CD’s with wine at home. Such is life. Ben Harper did it for me, though. I was right back in the 60’s/70’s with his performance. Enjoy Frank – er, James!
